off to Torino

Oh no-- it is raining over Roma -- don't believe it!
So we'll take the train tomorrow and northward bound to Turin...
The Torino Film Festival is about to start, good for the Italian scene.
And we'll eat pizza with all our wonderful freinds from the four years we spent in Piedmont.
A domani tutti.

The picture to the right shows Jeanette Rindahl our Norwegian neighbour from Fauske, (far north!) on pontoon D. She helped uis a lot, she and I spent a day together in Rome, and we hope to meet again ere too long...

Sailing from Ostia

Hardly sailing, scarcely a breath of wind. So of course I felt sea sick. Helped by Stugeron (2 at David's insistence) I recovered enough to consume a couple of Roberta's delicious home made meringues, followed by gelati artiginale. And so to bed, as Pepys would say, back home in the Porto di Roma.

Kasia back to Poland

Sunny again. We sleep deep and well, gently rocked. And the sun wakes us.
Soon Kasia must depart. Here comes a sunny pic of us sitting on the boat.

Armistice Day, Rome 2011

This should be a day to remember (world) peace. Well, that was the dream. I am in Rome, city of unending conflicts down the centuries, remembering. And David is on the boat in Porto Turistico di Roma, working. It has been pouring and storming -- but today the sun returned.

Today Chaya has left after a few weeks getting her sealegs -- back to California.
And Kasia has flown in from Warsaw -- new language needed!!

My Italian progresses and I explore Ostian alleys...
